I try to use discussion, images, video, readings, and lots of technology to help my students understand to...
Today the 5th grade at DBS learned the basics of using Google SketchUp. A few Hartford High School students in Mike Hathorn's History of Hartford class came to teach and lend support as the 5th graders spent 30 minutes building dog houses. The 5th graders have been studying energy in Science and will spend the rest of the week building energy efficient houses using Google SketchUp. Thank you to Mike and the high school s...
The 8th graders on Team Equinox have been studying Energy and Electricity in Science class. They focused a lot of their own energy on researching renewable resources to help combat Global Warming. As a finale to the unit, the students designed, built, and constructed buildings that would run solely on solar energy through solar panels.
Career Day has come to DBS. Rebecca Lallier and countless others have organized a day where students are engaged in learning more about different careers from experts in their field. The students have spent the last few weeks exploring a variety of careers by watching videos, learning about education needed for different careers, and now they have the opportunity to interview community members about their experiences in careers that they are intereste...
